WRB Gas' commitment and dedication to gas safety was recently acknowledged when they became the first Scottish company to receive "certification" under the CORGI Certification Limited (CCL)* gas scheme - a strict UKAS accredited management and monitoring standard that meets European ( EN45011) requirements.
Gaining the accolade also placed the progressive gas services company firmly in a vanguard of only four companies so far, across the UK, who have made the grade in achieving high overall standards in the safe management of gas work.
Operations Director Norrie Campbell, who is responsible for Contract Management and Procurement, explained: "Understanding and safely managing the health and safety risks in gas work means keeping all staff well-informed and knowledgeable on the requirements of existing and new legislation. At the same time, we must look after the needs of our customers, keeping them informed of progress on gas work and delivering the service that we promise."
Only CORGI-registered businesses can apply for assessment under the CCL gas scheme. CORGI-registration is now a optional requirement for businesses, both employers and the self-employed who carrying out gas work. Currently, there are some 44,000 registered installers employing approximately 95,000 gas-fitting operatives across the UK. WRB Gas are also registered with the Gas Safe Certification Scheme who now have legal responsibility for Gas Safety in the UK |
